Talent4Care Programme

Interested in training and gaining qualifications with direct access to employers who have job vacancies?  The Talent4Care Programme could be for you.  This 12-week training programme runs 6 times throughout the year.  The programme is available to anyone who is wanting to work in the sector and is over the age of 19 years.  If you are unemployed, you may be eligible for support with cost for travel and childcare costs too.

The course starts at 10am -2:30pm for 4 days per week Monday - Thursday for 12 weeks.   You will do a mock interview session and receive support to step into employment roles in the sector.

The training is delivered at the Health and Social Care Career Academy at Bickerstaffe House.  You will be required to conduct a lateral flow test at the start of the course and you will be provided with the Covid-19 test kits so that you can continue to test yourself twice a week from home.  This is to ensure that the risk of the transmission of Covid-19 in your learning environment is minimised.

If you have empathy, compassion and you enjoy working with people, the Talent4Care programme is for you.

What you will learn:

During the programme you will gain health and social care qualifications in Level 1 Awards in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care, Alcohol Awareness, Employability Skills and Well being.  You also have the opportunity to gain further qualifications on the Talent4Care part 2 and gain a level 1 in Stress Awareness and a level 2 qualification in Dementia Awareness and Dignity and Safeguarding.

We work in partnership with a number of social care and health providers who have vacancies and we will support you to gain employment in the sector.

You may be eligible for a bursary of £10 per week with a 90% course attendance.

There is support if you require childcare and a bus pass if you live more than 1.5 miles away from the academy at Bickerstaffe House.
