The training will take place at the Health & Social Care Career Academy, Bickerstaffe House, Bickerstaffe Square, 1 Talbot Road, Blackpool, FY 1 3AH.

There are also 8 extra places available on the Pathway to Progress first day of each of the above sessions, these are for staff members who wouldn't be delivering the training but will drive the Moving with Dignity approach for your organisation.

We offer numerous accredited courses to include: Dementia Awareness, Handling of Medications, Principles of Care Planning, Falls Prevention, Understanding Behaviour that Challenges, Mental Health, Alcohol and Substance Misuse, Stress Awareness, End of Life Care, Dignity and Safeguarding and Helping Skills.  These courses are designed to enhance your knowledge and are good continuing professional development opportunity.

Talent4Care Programme

Interested in training and gaining qualifications with direct access to employers who have job vacancies?  The Talent4Care Programme could be for you.  This 6-week training programme runs 6 times throughout the year.  The programme is available to anyone who is wanting to work in the sector and is over the age of 19 years.  If you are unemployed, you may be eligible for support with cost for travel and childcare costs too. 

The course starts at 10am -2:30pm for 4 days per week Monday - Thursday for 6 weeks.   You will do a mock interview session and you receive support to step into employment roles in the sector.  There are a variety of full-time and part-time positions available.

The training is delivered at the Health and Social Care Career Academy at Bickerstaffe House.  

If you have empathy, compassion and you enjoy working with people, the Talent4Care programme is for you. 

What you will learn:

During the programme you will gain health and social care qualifications in Level 1 Awards in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care, Health & Safety, Employability Skills and Well being.  You also have the opportunity to gain further qualifications and gain a level 2.

We work in partnership with a number of social care and health providers who have vacancies and we will support you to gain employment in the sector or support you if you decide to do further study. 

You may be eligible for a bursary of £10 per week with a 90% course attendance.

There is support if you require childcare and a bus pass if you live more than 1.5 miles away from the academy at Bickerstaffe House.

We provide a free fruit breakfast and food shopping vouchers.
